Every other workout tracker is a spreadsheet. This one has Sarge.
Pick a coach with an actual personality. Earn XP for showing up. Watch your friends’ numbers land in your feed. Clean Set still does the hard part — it computes your next weight from the sets you logged — you just stop dreading the app that does it.
Free forever for tracking · no card required
- Pick a coach who talks like a person
- Earn XP every session, more for PRs
- Follow friends and see what they moved
- Never do the math at the rack again
How it works
The math is already done when you get there.
You train in a rep range. Clear the top of it on every set, cleanly, and the weight goes up next session. Miss anywhere and it holds until you earn it. That's double progression — you add weight because you got stronger, not because you felt like it.
-
Log the set
One tap per set. Swipe it clean, flag a grinder, log each arm separately when the sides don't match.
-
The engine decides
On save, every lift is re-scored in code — not by a chatbot. Bumps, holds and PRs come out the other side.
-
Next target is waiting
Next time, the number is already on screen — with a note saying why it moved, or why it didn't.
What you get
Built for the gym floor, not the spreadsheet.
Every one of these exists because doing it by hand mid-set was annoying.
A real progression engine
Double progression computed from your logged sets. Same input, same answer, every time — no drift, no vibes.
A coach that knows your numbers
Ask what's today, why a lift is holding, or what to do when the rack is busy. Every answer comes from your own history.
Programs built for you
A few questions and you have a split that fits your week, your gym and your experience. Beginners get real starting weights, not an empty box.
Nutrition in the same app
Calories and macros against daily targets, logged in plain language. Estimates carry a confidence level instead of faking precision.
Friends, not followers
Share a finished session, follow the people you actually train with, and react to their PRs. Private by default — you decide what's public, and you can lock your profile down entirely.
Every timer you use
Rest clock with audio markers at each 30 seconds. Tabata and interval timers. A stopwatch with laps. Hold timers for planks. The screen stays awake while they run.
Music built in
A player that keeps going across screens, ducking under the coach when it speaks up — or run your own app and keep our cues on top.
PRs and achievements
Weight and rep records caught automatically. A session where every lift bumped earns a badge that stacks each time you do it again.
Plate math and swaps
What to hang on the bar, per side, for the plates your gym actually has. Machine taken? The coach swaps in an equivalent for one session.
Form reference
A form guide on every lift, one tap away.
Turn the phone sideways for full screen. No hunting through a video for the ten seconds that matter.
See it move
A session, start to finish.
Ninety seconds: pick the day, log the sets, watch the targets move.

About the app
Fun, functional, fitness.
Working out should be fun, functional, and challenging. The best memories are training with a buddy who cracks jokes between sets, motivates you when you need it, and helps you log weights and keep track. My buddies are too far away — so I built Clean Set to fill the gap.
Questions
The things people actually ask.
What is double progression?
You train in a rep range instead of at a fixed number. Hit the top of the range on every working set, cleanly, and the weight goes up next session. Miss anywhere and it holds so you can earn it. Clean Set applies this from your logged sets automatically, so your next target is already on screen when you walk in.
Is Clean Set free?
Yes. Logging, your full history, charts, PRs and the progression engine are free and unlimited. The paid tier adds the AI coach and nutritionist chats, which cost real money to run. Your training data is never gated or deleted.
Does the AI make up my weights?
No — and this is the part worth understanding. Every number comes from deterministic code applied to the sets you logged: the same rule every time, whatever the AI happens to be doing. The coach reads those computed numbers and explains them. It never invents a target.
Can I use it if the machine I wanted is taken?
Yes. Ask the coach for a substitute and it swaps that lift for one session. The histories stay separate on purpose — a Hammer Strength press and a barbell press are different lifts with different working weights, and merging them would corrupt both.
Do I have to build my own program?
No. Answer a few questions about your schedule, your equipment and your experience, and the coach builds one — push/pull/legs, upper/lower, full body, kettlebell, calisthenics. Complete beginners get sensible starting weights estimated from their body stats rather than a blank box to fill in.
Is my training public?
No. Nothing is shared until you share it. You pick a handle, choose which finished sessions to post, and can set your profile to private so only people you approve see anything. Your log is yours by default.
What timers does it have?
A rest clock with audio markers every 30 seconds, Tabata and custom interval timers, a stopwatch with laps, and hold timers for planks. They keep the screen awake while they run, so you can leave the phone on the bench.
Does it track nutrition too?
Yes. Calories and macros against daily targets, with meal logging in plain language. Food estimates are approximate and labeled with a confidence level, because every app that claims precision here is guessing too.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in the browser and installs to your home screen from Safari or Chrome if you want it to feel like an app. A native iOS version is on the way.

Log one session and the app starts doing the math for you.
